Overview of Dayara Bugyal Trek
Explore Tours
Dayara Bugyal Trek is accessible from the two trails of Agoda and Barsu village in Uttarkashi. This trek is known for its beautiful meadows and snowy peaks. The word Bugyal in the local Garhwali language means “medium altitude meadow,” Dayara lives up to its name with its vast, rolling pastures, green and vibrant in summer and golden-hued in autumn. Dayara Bugyal is one of Uttarakhand’s high-altitude meadows, sitting at 3,639 m (11,939 ft); this trek offers a picturesque landscape of rolling grasslands and the dense forest of Dayara Bugyal.
The trail is considered a moderate trek, gradually ascending to the expansive meadows, making it easy for novice and experienced trekkers to trek. Along the way, from Agoda, there are no peaks visible before getting to Dev Kund campsite (in this trail, trekkers can get adventure of different locations and jungles), but from Barsu, Bandarpoonch, Srikanth, Gangotri 1, 2,3, Draupadi ka Danda, Jaonli such peaks are visible.
Most importantly, it is the Butter Festival, which the villagers of Rethal celebrate every year on 16 August. Beyond its natural beauty, Dayara Bugyal is steeped in cultural festivals. Butter festival involves locals playing with butter, dancing around Radha and Krishna, and singing traditional songs that reflect the cultural tapestry of the area.
Why Choose Dayara Bugyal Trek?
Dayara Bugyal Trek is a trekking destination in the Indian Himalayas, offering a pleasant blend of natural beauty, cultural richness and accessibility.
The first impression of Dayara Bugyal Trek is its expansive Meadows, which transform with the different seasons. While locals engage in traditional dances, rituals and daily work routines, our trekkers enjoy all the seasons differently, like in winters with snow and in summer with greenery. At the top of Dayara Bugyal, trekkers take beautiful views of 10 peaks in a single Frame.
Another advantage of the Dayara Bugyal Trek is its road connectivity with Agoda, Barsu and Raithal. Convenient for trekkers traveling from their major cities. Trek from Agoda Village is also considered a Moderate trek, but it is slightly between moderate and arduous. But from Barsu and Raithal, it’s a moderate trek.
